Vancouver is the host city for the Symposium, between November 14-18, 2016. The theme this year is \u201cResilient and responsive health systems for a changing world\u201d and brings together researchers, policy-makers, health system and programme managers as well as civil society participants from around the world. The four days will be packed with 22 plenary speakers, including BCCDC\u2019s own Dr Tyndall and over a hundred 90-minute concurrent sessions.<\/p>\n<p>As part of the proceedings, there will be over 500 posters and e-posters from researchers on a number of health topics. The BCCDC Foundation is proud to have been able to sponsor five poster prizes to recognize outstanding health systems work.<\/p>\n<p>BCCDC has a display table in the Symposium Marketplace, with information on GetCheckedOnline, Chee Mamuk and the Foundation.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/bccdcfoundation.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/IMG_1322-2__1479326522_209.139.228.161.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-129\" src=\"https:\/\/bccdcfoundation.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/IMG_1322-2__1479326522_209.139.228.161-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"img_1322-2__1479326522_209-139-228-161\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The BC Centre for Disease Control members and researchers are involved in many aspects of the Symposium: on the local organizing committees, as speakers, presenters, volunteers, attendees, and in the case of Meaghan Thumath, as an #HSGSpeaks reporter you can follow on Twitter and Instagram.<\/p>\n<p>For more information on the Symposium, please visit <a href=\"https:\/\/healthsystemsresearch.org\/hsr2016\/\">their website<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Foundation Executive Director Kristy Kerr, and Executive Medical Director of BCCDC Dr Mark Tyndall are members of the local organizing committee for this biannual international symposium.
